Postion Summary


The Visual Merchandising Coordinator is responsible for the implementation of global VM standards across all of ECCO Canada’s Retail locations. He or she is responsible for creating and upholding an appealing in-store experience by communicating visual concepts and strategies and training in-store sales teams. By spending a significant amount of time in stores, the VM Coordinator will develop an acute understanding of each store’s commercial needs, challenges and opportunities. The Visual Merchandising Coordinator works closely with global and local Marketing, VM and Retail teams to deliver a consistent brand presentation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Key responsibilities


  • Ensure ECCO’s basic VM standards are followed at all times. Manage execution of merchandise placement through effective planning, prioritizing, communication and follow-up.
  • Elevate the Visual Merchandising standards to ensure consistency and compliance with Global & Canadian standards.
  • Partner with in-store teams to ensure successful implementation of new concepts and launches of new products.
  • Create clear reporting to management on VM activities. Weekly assessment of the effectiveness of VM based on sales results.
  • Communication of guidelines to in-store and head-office teams.
  • Responsible for the allocation and distribution of seasonal POS material.
  • Frequent store visits to ensure standards are being adhered to. Coaching of store teams when standards aren’t met.
  • Assist in window installations and floor setups on an as need basis.

Minimum Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in visual merchandising, fashion merchandising, exhibition design, visual communication or similar
  • Proven work experience in visual merchandising
  • Demonstrable visual design skills with a strong retail merchandising portfolio
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Photoshop, Illustrator, or other visual design tools
  • Knowledge of current visual merchandising trends and best practices
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a car
